Somali President organized Iftar (breaking fast) program for security chiefs in the country to discuss the security situation in the country.

The meeting at presidential palace in Mogadishu Villa Somalia was aimed at security development across the country and fight against armed group Al Shabaab.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has urged the security agencies to increase their efforts in improving the security in the country.

Sheikh Mohamud acknowledged the difficulties faced by Somali security agencies in the battle field while urging them to perform their national duty.

“The government and the people of Somalia understand the difficult circumstance under which our forces are operating, I call upon them to double their efforts to win war against the enemy in our country,” he said.

The meeting comes following widely covered Somali National Army and AMISOM peace keeping troops retreat from several bases in Lower Shabelle region and increased Al Shabaab attacks during the holy month of Ramadan.

Defense minister Ali Dini, Internal security minister Abdirizack Mohamed, Police, Intelligence and Military chiefs were present in the meeting.
