Mandera senator Billow Kerow has said the government of President Uhuru Kenyatta has failed to restore security in North Eastern part of the country.

Senator Kerow has called upon the government to fire senior security officials in the region which he said are responsible for the deterioration of the security in the area.

Kerow comments comes just days after over 14 quarry workers were killed by Al Shabaab fighters in Mandera which has experienced wave of attacks.

He said the Uhuru government did not consider several suggestions his forwarded to improve the security situation in the region.

The senator was speaking during a meeting with 12 members from North Eastern region regarding the latest development Al Shabaab attack in Mandera in which 14 were killed and over 11 were wounded.

The members from the Somali dominated region have called upon the government to deploy more troops to improve security situation.
