United Nations Secretary General Special Representative for Somalia ambassador Nicholas Kay has welcomed the election of Somali central regional state administration parliament speaker.

Ambassador Kay described the election of the speaker Ali Gacal Casir as step forward in the establishment of the regional state government.

Kay also praised the role played by Somali interior minister, federal establishment committee and Galmudug regional parliament.

UN Special envoy said his office will continue the support for the establishment and implementation of federal system in Somalia.

The election of the central regional state president is set on 4th next Saturday according to the timetable.

Puntland regional state and armed group Ahlu Suna Wal Jama have denounced the new central regional state citing inclusive and territorial dispute issues.
