UAE donates armored vehicles to Somali Police Force United Arab Emirates has donated armored vehicles, traffic police motorbikes and water tank vehicles to Somali Police Force.
The donation was presented by United Arab Emirates ambassador to Somalia Mohamed Ahmed Osman Al Humaidi to Internal security minister Abdirizack Omar and Police commissioner General Mohamed Sheikh Hassan Hamud at UAE embassy building in Mogadishu on Wednesday.
Internal security minister who thanked UAE government for the support has said the equipment will help recuperating Somali Police Force strengthen maintainance of peace and order in the country. UAE also donated similar security equipment to regional state of Jubaland last month as part of helping to rebuild Somali security agencies.
Several countries including Turkey, Italy, US and UK are also playing significant role in rebuilding and equipping Somali National Army after decades of civil war.
