More than 95 Somali refugees have arrived back home in the country from Yemen.

The citizens fled the violence in the gulf state between Houthi Shia rebels and Saudi led coalition.

The refugees who were mostly women and children were welcomed at Aden Ade International airport on Monday by senior Somali government officials and the first lady.

Those who needed medical attention were treated inside the airport by waiting medical team before being allowed to continue.

Thousands of Somali refugees that fled the country to Yemen during the height of the civil war 1990s are now returning back home from the violence in Yemen.

Significant number of Yemen nationals also fleeing the violence have arrived and seek refuge in Somalia and Djibouti.

The government has established an emergency committee to look into the issues of Somali citizens fleeing Yemen conflict.
