Women right activist and anti-female genital mutilation campaigner Ifrah Ahmed has won Humanitarianof the Year Award in Women4Africa of year award event in London.

Ifrah who is an adviser to the ministry of women affairs in her home country was presented with the award in front of hundreds of dignitaries from Africa and also government officials from Somalia.

She thanked all who supported her journey and vowed to continue with the campaign to root out abuse against women in her country.

“I am extremely humbled and honored to receive Humanitarian of the Year Award at the Women4Africa of the Year awards,” she said in her Facebook page.

“I can’t express how much it means to me your support and prayers I feel stronger today by just reading your comments and emails and all the phone calls, My sincere congratulations to all winners but also to every woman who have done the great work,” she added.
