Somalia’s premier Omar Abdirashid on Friday visited Puntland amid deep concerns between the two sides over the central state formation in southern Somalia. The visit which was announced by the Puntland state house on Thursday was held in a style.

The state has deployed more troops in the capital to maintain security amid vehicle transportation and people’s movements were restricted ahead of his arrival in Garowe.

President Gaas has met with PM Omar of Somalia, leading high level ministerial officials to shore up an important relationship and offer condolence for the death of ex Puntland’s first lady Aamina Abib, who was killed in Garowe.

Both officials held an hour long meeting in which they discussed a range of issues including the fight against Al-shabab and the Somalia’s led central state Formation as well vision of 2016.

The PM’s visit has drawn attention to the Somalis fleeing from Yemen despite more than 200 people reached in the port town of Bosaaso, seeking places to refuge, officials said.
