Somalia’s northeastern regional state of Puntland condemned Thursday’s brutal attack on South west state presidential compound in Baidoa town. More than 10 people reportedly died in the onslaught, officials confirm.

In a statement released by the administration expressed sympathy and profound condolences to attack’s deceased victims and the state officials.

“We are deeply saddened by the news of the attack and we are highly appreciated how the region forces ward off Al-shabab attack “the statement read.

The Al-Qaeda affiliated militants, Al-shabaab claimed attack’s responsibility, which marked first deadly attack months after Shariif Hassan sworn as the region’s first president. The attack also left several South west and AMISOM soldiers according to government officials.
