Al Shabaab attack on vehicles transiting khat kills three

Al Shabaab militant group has claimed responsibility on an attack that killed three people near Somali port city of Kismayo.

The group said it attacked government forces providing escort for vehicles transporting stimulus plant from Kenya khat.

The incident occurred in small town of Fumo which is 30 kilometers to the port city of Kismayo.

The khat is said to be destined for Kismayo where Kenyan troops who make up as African Union peace keeping forces are stationed.
