Soldier Shoots Dead Dhusamareb Civilian After Argument

A soldier formerly of the Ahlu Sunna Wal Jamaa administration has been arrested after he shot dead a civilian in Dhusamareb the new administrative capital of Galmudug.

Radio Dalsan’s correspondent in Dhusamareb Maryan Mire reports that an argument ensued after the soldier stopped a private vehicle at checkpoint

“The soldier shot the driver when they were arguing. People rushed him to the hospital but he died upon arrival” Maryan said.

The soldier escaped the scene of crime but was later apprehended by authorities.

Security in Dhusamareb had been  beefed up as Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed ‘Farmajo’ and other top government leaders are in the town to attend an official conference to mark the merger of Ahlu Sunna Wal Jama’a and Galmudug administration.

Several security hitches have been reported including the arrest of Somalis National Election Commission boss Halima Ismail.
