Somali National Intelligence (NISA ) have for the first time introduced motorcycles to beef up security in the capital Mogadishu.
It is estimated that around 100 motorcycles have been placed strategically in Mogadishu to enable reduce cases of drive by shootings and assassinations.
Security analysts believe that this is as a result of the public hue and cry that followed the recent assassinations of women rights activists.
“Its a step towards the right direction in dealing with runway assassinations especially in the central business district.
But it remains to be seen how effective it will be” Mohamud Adow a Mogadishu based analyst told Radio Dalsan.
