Banadir police present 11 officers for illegally carrying weapons in Mogadishu

The Banadir Regional Police have presented 11 officers accused of unlawfully carrying weapons in Mogadishu, violating previous directives issued by security agencies.

The officers were apprehended by the Capital City Police, particularly from the Central Police Station. They are expected to be referred to court after disregarding orders prohibiting off-duty personnel from carrying firearms in the city.

Federal security agencies had previously banned the possession of heavy weapons, increased armed escorts, and carrying firearms within the capital to strengthen security and maintain public safety in Mogadishu.
